Episode Three - The Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake
In today's episode, we make our Producer Marge's Signature (and also favorite) dessert... Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake! Originally a Pampered Chef recipe, Marge has used this recipe as her go-to party dish. And it's always a hit! We have had this dish multiple times, and each time we can never get enough. It's simple, quick, and delicious! Frank & I go through a couple of minor mishaps in this episode, but thankfully we made it through without burning down the kitchen! You can find a recipe for this dish below!

Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake
"This dish is a favorite at parties. You will leave with an empty pan, but definitely with more friends!"
Ingredients:
- 8oz (1 package) cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 packages of croissants
- 1 can cherry pie filling
Tools we you'll need for this recipe:
For Icing:
- 1 cup powedered sugar
- 1/4 stick of butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Splash of milk (be careful here. You want your icing to drizzle, but not too runny!
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla in medium mixing bowl.
- Roll out 1 1/2 pkg of croissants and place in a circle on the stone. Pretend like you're forming a pizza.
- Place the 1/2 can of croissants left in the refrigerator to keep cooled.
- Once stone is fully covered, use a roller to for the pieces together and to roll out the seams. "Roll out!"
- Once you've formed the crust, cut out a small circle in the middle of the dough. (About a 3-inch diameter circle) We used the plastic part of our measuring cup, but you can use anything that will "cookie cut" the hole.
- Spread cream cheese mixture over your crust.
- Add 1 can of cherries over cream cheese mixture. Make sure not to get any in the middle in that hole you just cut!
- Cut your remaining four croissants into 3 pieces with pizza cutter. (You should have 12 pieces total. If you want to keep the middle piece of dough you just cut, you can also use this piece as a divider)
- Separate pieces and twist. Place these on top of the cherries, making sections. Like you're making pizza slices!
- If you want to get fancy, pinch around the crust the way Marge does in the video (not required, just makes it look nice ;)
- Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
- While your creation is baking, mix together your icing ingredients until it makes a drizzle-worthy icing. (not too thick, not too runny)
- After fully baked, allow coffee cake to cool a bit, then drizzle icing on top. It's all in the wrist!
And Enjoy!
Yields about 12 slices. It all depends on how small you slice it!
